Sirius Battle Back To Win Hull Schools Cup Final

Written by

Sirius Academy West won the first Hull Schools FA Cup Final of the season after coming back from a goal down to beat Kelvin Hall 4-1. The first half was a tense affair with both teams creating some clear cut and half cut chances. Both goalkeepers making some fantastic saves. However Jay Carroll (Kelvin Hall) made two point blank saves to keep the game goalless at half time.

Kelvin took the lead in the second half when a half cleared corner fell to Henry Watkins outside the left hand corner of the penalty area. He curled a ball into the box and Ellis Gowan finished on the half volley to put Kelvin Hall 1-0 up. Sirius Academy responded and Jay Mainprize hit a shot which flew into the top right hand corner from 25 yards. Sirius were in the ascendancy and some neat interplay saw Gael Nzyado chip the advancing Carroll to make it 2-1. 10 minutes later in a repeat of the second goal, Nzyado made it 3-1 to chip the advancing Carroll again on the right hand corner of the six yard box. Jack Tanser made it 4-1 after coolly slotting home a penalty after a foul in the penalty box to complete the scoring.
